Boiler Rooms - Houses of Prayer
Houses of Prayer
Monasteries. I wonder what the word conjures up in your mind? Dynamic and life changing are possibly not the first words you think of. Boredom is possibly a lot nearer the mark. Suddenly all over London groups of ordinary people are setting up or thinking about setting up modern day monasteries. What’s that all about? Well, monasteries were never meant to be dull but places that people from all different churches and denominations go to and meet with God. Then, filled with his Spirit and having received direction from God, people go out and change their area. God is doing something knew in London. A Boiler Room, as these monasteries are called, is open already in West London and others are planned in Thurrock, Wandsworth, Barnet, Orpington and Soho. These monasteries will be places of prayer, serve the poor, work for church unity and seek a move of God across our city!
