Praying for London

A Word of Encouragement for LPN & UK Intercessors & Pastors

BLETCHLEY PARK” – A WORD OF PROPHETIC ENCOURAGEMENT FOR STRATEGIC INTERCESSORS AND CHURCH LEADERS IN GREAT BRITAIN
By Michael Kroning

“As cold water to a weary soul, so is good news from a far country.” Prov. 25:25

In August 2006, Rachel Hickson, Director of Heart Cry Ministries, was the featured speaker at the “Burning Hearts Northwest” conference in Salem, Oregon in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S.A. During this time, the Lord began to impress me with a specific prophetic word concerning “Bletchley Park” for church leaders in the U.K., the army of intercessors serving a number of prayer networks God has raised up to intercede for London and Great Britain, as well as others who have committed themselves to intercede for Great Britain and continental Europe. Here is a word of encouragement which I hope will encourage church leaders and intercessors in Britain with renewed faith, expectant hope, fresh determination and endurance to fulfill their calling to intercede in faith on behalf of the nation and its spiritual transformation.

BLETCHLEY PARK

Bletchley Park – what a strange thought for the Lord to bring to my mind (and to a Yank no less) in relation to those who are strategic intercessors for London and Great Britain. Yet, as a student of history, I knew immediately what the significance was in hearing those words.

The Lord said that He is going to use the strategic intercessors now praying for London and Great Britain in a similar way that he used the operations of Bletchley Park to reveal and defend against the plans of an evil enemy in wartime, in order to hasten the end of the war and secure victory to those allied in this righteous cause. The Lord is going to allow His intercessors to have access to the enemy’s “war room” and to reveal the enemy’s code book, in order that the schemes, strategies and devices of the enemy may be thwarted

Nehemiah’s rebuilding of the wall at Jerusalem gives us a picture of some of the enemy’s tactics that seek to hinder, oppose and destroy the work of God’s Kingdom. I believe Chapters 1 through 6 of the Book of Nehemiah (and Neh. 4:7-16 as it relates to this prophecy) have special significance to our times. I would encourage you to read and meditate on these chapters for greater understanding of this word.

“Lest Satan should take advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices.” II Cor 2:11

To those not familiar with the operations of Bletchley Park during World War II, you may wish to read about its history or visit the facility outside of London, which has been preserved for the nation’s remembrance as a public museum and historic site. Essentially, an ingenious Nazi enigma code machine, along with the instruction manuals and current code settings, were surreptitiously retrieved from a captured German submarine just prior to its sinking early in the war. While the Nazis regularly changed the machine code settings and considered the enigma to be beyond the ability of being compromised, that which was retrieved, along with information provided by exiled Polish patriots, allowed British operatives to learn how to decode German messages concerning military operations on a regular basis. Bletchley Park was the secret location in the countryside outside of London where this strategic wartime effort was conducted. It was quite an elaborate operation which required the utmost secrecy to preserve this crucial work without detection.

God often uses things in the natural to reveal what He is doing or about to do in the spiritual realm. I Cor. 15:46 says, “The spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward, the spiritual.” So, let us look at the operations of Bletchley Park to discern what the Lord would say about the spiritual applications of these events in our day. Let us ask the Lord to reveal His wisdom and understanding to us, who are not only His servants, but also His friends and confidants, as to what He is saying in this day:
  • Bletchley Park was a very strategic part of the war effort. It was the place where the enemy’s strategies, plans and tactics were exposed. Even so, prayer and intercession are part of the essential strategy God uses to extend His Kingdom and accomplish His will on this earth. He is a Revealer of secrets to those who seek His face. (Dan. 2:22,28-29,47; Amos 3:7)
  • While Bletchley Park was a critical operational unit known to the King, the Prime Minister, and a small circle of key leaders in the war effort, it was totally unseen and unknown by the masses in the nation. What is strategically important to God is not always seen or recognized by man. But one day our heavenly King shall reward those who have been faithful to do His work in secret. (Mt. 6:4, 6:6, 6:18)
  • For the success of Bletchley Park’s operations, it was essential that its existence and work be hidden from the enemy. God expects us to use wisdom and discernment to carry out His orders, especially when used in spiritual warfare operations that necessitate not exposing our troops to the enemy’s fire.
  • Bletchley Park’s work resulted in hastening the end of the war and saving multitudes of lives on the battlefield. Yet, not one of its patriots could be publicly recognized or rewarded, due to the hidden nature of their work. The vital contributions they were making were publicly unseen. Often such is the lot of the intercessor, whose actions of obedience are unseen but by God, as they faithfully persevere in faith until the burden of the Lord is lifted and victory in the spiritual realm is achieved through prayer.
  • Those at Bletchley Park often couldn’t see the direct results of their efforts. Only much later, through faith and patient endurance, did they come to eventually learn what their labours had accomplished. How apropos to the work of the Lord’s service! Some sow, some water, and some get to reap, but ALL are eventually rewarded. The works of some are clearly seen by all, while the works of others are hidden. It is through faith and patience that we receive the promises of God! (Heb. 6:10-12; I Thess. 1:2,3; II Thess. 1:3-5)
Heb. 10:32-39 exhorts us, “Therefore (i.e., in light of all these preceding things), do not cast away your confidence, which has great recompense of reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.”

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS FOR CHURCH LEADERS & INTERCESSORS ON BEHALF OF THE NATION

The Holy Spirit will progressively give insight, revelation and prophetic understanding as we look to Him and seek Him for guidance and wisdom. Part of the unity of the Body of Christ, is that each of us only sees in part and prophesies in part. John 7:16-18 shows us that having a right heart that wills to do His will and is free from self-serving motives is a key to understanding with true spiritual discernment, so that we are protected from the deception of the evil one and the soulish understanding that arises from our carnal way of thinking. I believe the Lord will provide additional insight to those who humbly pray and seek Him about these prophetic declarations. Here are some revelations that I believe the Lord has shown me concerning this word:
  1. The Lord is going to allow you as His intercessors to have access to the enemy’s “war room” and to have the enemy’s code book revealed, in order that the schemes, strategies and devices of the enemy may be thwarted. This is a sovereign work of the Lord and His grace, not based on our own sense of “worthiness” or importance, as if we could ever earn such an awesome privilege.  Rather, His strategic revelation is to accomplish His divine and holy purposes and He has chosen to entrust it to those intercessors who seek to hear from His throne room with a humble heart to serve and obey our King.
  2. Through the revelation of the Holy Spirit, you will be used to protect the nation from many attacks intended to bring harm to the cause of Christ and to bring death and destruction to many lives. Though primarily concerning your own land, this may also include attacks targeting other nations.
  3. You must be content to receive the rewards of your faithfulness and obedience from Him alone, and not seek these from the praise of men or that of the world. Since the victories that the Lord will use you in effectually securing will be largely unseen by the world and natural man, you must be content, with His words of pleasure and the “earnest” of future reward that He will speak to your spirit. As His child, you will know how He delights in the fruit of your love, faithfulness, obedience and endurance.
  4. Your calling in this matter as intercessors and His burden bearers is one that will at times require you to endure hardship, obscurity and long-suffering in the midst of the battle. (II Tim. 2:1-13) Yet, His grace shall be sufficient to sustain you and the rewards of your faithfulness will be great.
  5. Your work is greater than just for your own city, capital, and nation, but like the operations at Bletchley Park, will be strategic in the spiritual restoration of your nation, as well as in that of establishing a “spiritual beachhead” for the coming liberation of the European continent from the domain of the prince of darkness – a work in which many will get to participate in our day!
May the Lord bless you as you are faithful and obedient to His calling in this hour! (II Thess. 1:11,12)
