Praying for London

No Greater Love

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command…. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.” John 15:13…17

Here we see the greatest love ever shown and the highest expression of friendship in the cross. Jesus tells us his disciples what true friendship involves, laying aside our agenda in obedience to the Father. Out of his relationship of love to the father he learned the key to life and the kingdom of God…and this he taught his friends. He chose us to bear fruit- fruit that remains. How important prayer is in this- both listening prayer for fresh revelation and insight to His words, and asking in Jesus name that opens the door to fruit that remains and depends on our love for each other.

Praise that we had a great atmosphere at the On The Move Mission in September: a real openness among the hundreds who were spoken with and prayed for over the food offered in warm hospitality. Give thanks for this expression of unity, and for His continued work in these lives.

Pray for a change in climate among young people in our borough. Some have been acting in violent and aggressive manner, terrorizing local residents and creating areas people are afraid to enter. Pray for effective policing, and community work that helps young people have constructive things to do. For our youth ministries to be more effective in reaching unchurched youth, and have the resources to do so. Pray for partnerships to develop between churches, police, and community groups to develop effective means to influence this coming generation for respect, trust & hope. Pray for our youth ministers & for the Lord to bring more laborers to this harvest field.

Pray for our New Hospital which is in final preparations to be completed in time for an effective and smooth transition with minimal disruption to the care of patients, the first patients meant to move in on November 17, and by December 20 Queen's Hospital be fully functional. Pray for the new name to reflect the blessing of the Lord to our region. Pray for the Lord to make it a place of peace, restoration and healing of lives.

Security - Pray for a rejection of violence in the borough. Speak peace and safety over our region. - reports of armed robbery of a Securicor driver in Upminster this week highlight our potential vulnerability. Let this create a hunger for God’s help and finding ultimate security in Jesus. Ask God to cleanse our land from the shedding of innocent blood. Jeremiah 7:6,22:3 psalm 106:38-48

Please pray for the hinderances to an effective Street Pastors Ministry be moved out of the way. For churches to work together in training and equipping. This ministry is a key to helping deal with unruly and disrespectful behavior before it turns violent.

Churches looking for a minister…discerning who God is calling to lead a congregation is not easy! Pray for our Father to guide & direct Godly leaders who will work together for transformation and unity to our borough. Pray for: Chase Cross Baptist, Hornchurch Baptist, St Andrews Hornchurch, St James Collier row & St Johns Havering, St Lukes.

Pray for all our churches to be praying and preparing in unity for revival. A key is flexibility. “the Welsh revival was sparked when a young man named Evan Roberts prayed, “Bend me, O Lord,” and received the Holy Spirit. Revival brings change. Revival people bend with the wind. They are flexible and steadfast at the same time. The world is entering her final hour. Shaking is coming. The flexible people who carry revival are like the sons of Issachar: the know the times and seasons, and they know what to do.” Mahesh Chavda

“But he took note of their distress when he heard their cry; for their sake he remembered his covenant and out of his great love he relented.” Psalm 106:44,45
