March 15th  - Prayer for London

15th March 2006

Dear London Prayernet,

Gordon and I are away for our 25th Wedding anniversary and I have just remembered that it is time to write the next bulletin but with the time difference I expect this bulletin will be a little late UK time. In the UK I expect Spring is about to break through the ground and yet again the seasons change and turn.

Last time that I wrote I shared the words from Victor Lorenzo and others concerning their prophetic feelings about London. Obviously the date that Victor Lorenzo set for the 4th March has come and gone and nothing seemed to physically happen that corresponded to his word. I have posted on the London website Victor’s response to this word and the subsequent lack of the physical signs and I feel it is better for him to answer his own word. However I have had so many different people sending me words of prophetic warning concerning London that I did feel that not to share them would have been irresponsible. If you share them and nothing happens it does cause confusion and I do always try to avoid this but if we decide not to share them and then something happens and we later tell you we had words given to us then we would be accused of censorship of the word that God wanted to speak. So it is always a difficult choice! I trust that we are mature enough to find the right and helpful path through this time and I am sorry for any confusion that we caused by sharing these words. I did however receive this word and think it is interesting in the light of what we were praying for London.

In response to the Whale/Flood warning, it seems that the flood has been averted? This is my feedback.

On the lead up to 1st March, I began checking meteorological surface pressure charts around the UK. Floods in the Thames area are most likely to occur when a Thames high tide (due on 1st March at around 1:30am) coincides with a storm surge in the North Sea. A storm surge occurs when a low-pressure trough over the sea is accompanied by strong north winds. The trough has the effect of lifting the sea upwards just beneath it, creating a hump of water. As the winds move this pressure trough down into the North Sea, where the sea depth is shallower, the hump effectively rises and creates a large fast moving wave. If this wave coincides with a high tide, then flooding is most likely.
On the 27th Feb, I watched the animated forecast pictures display an area of low pressure to the north east of Britain, with a low pressure trough coming across the sea from the north, with north winds forecast force 8 to 9 in all shipping areas east of the UK. The anticipated movement of the low-pressure trough was that it would sweep southwards and cross the opening to the Thames estuary at about 1 am on the morning of the 1st March. The high tide was due at almost exactly the same time. To my eye, a flood was highly likely, if not imminent.
I know many will have been interceding over this warning, some in the day, some in the night. On the morning of the 28th Feb, 24 hours later, I rechecked the surface pressure chart animation, which is updated every morning. To my amazement, the low-pressure trough had already passed London and was heading out over the landmass of France. The winds had picked up so effectively that any wave had passed by early, before the high tide had come.
It seems to me, therefore, unless anyone has other information to report, that the flood has been averted by the intercession of those who responded. Only God knows how many of us pressed in. I believe this is precisely what He is calling us into in these days - a deeper, more obedient, fervent and passionate intercession for this nation.

 Yours in Jesus, Maggie Richardson

I am so grateful that there is NO flood in London and we do not want a ‘JONAH’ spirit that was offended when the word was not fulfilled but the people went free. To me the sign of the whale is more a sign of grace than judgement, as God does not want to do what he said and desires to turn and relent. But even in the midst of all these words I do believe that we need to pray fro London like never before. I do believe that if so many different people are concerned for the welfare of the city then we must pray for the peace and welfare of the city.

So, we thank God that nothing happened in London over the Spring Tides and we pray that God will continue to bless those who work in London and answer the cry of the Christians of this city.

(Hab 3:1 NIV) A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet.

(Hab 3:2 NIV) LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.

God we do take time today to stand on behalf of London. We do not want to be distracted from the place of prayer with all the different words and their various interpretations….but we do want to turn our face to you and PRAY for London. God we want to stand and ask you in our day – in our time – turn the spiritual climate of the city and let there be mercy ….turn the heart of London to God – let the city stand in awe of you God - raise the sound of people praying!!

Father we know you hold all the tie and season and we trust you with London and even with the many words and different interpretations – hear our cry we ask!!

Thank you for praying for this city
