Praying for London

Oxygen - Kingston's Youth outreach

Oxygen was established in 2001 by 20 churches across Kingston Borough who came together with the support of Kingston Youth Service and Youth for Christ. To establish a much needed work that exists to "give young people in Kingston Borough the opportunity to discover and follow Jesus". It aims to do this by serving, building relationships with young people, and relying on God.

A team that includes two full time workers, a team of GAP year workers and over 60 local volunteers staff Oxygen. The GAP year team are young people who take a year out after school or University in order to work with other young people in the borough.

Oxygen has also received grant funding from The Christian Initiative Trust, South London Connexions, the Lloyds TSB foundation and The Football Foundation.

Since it started in September 2001 Oxygen has been working to build and establish relationships with some of the most difficult young people in Kingston. This has resulted in Oxygen being well established amongst the local young people as being a credible and reliable organisation.
