M25 Nutcracker - 10 Days Of Continuous Prayer for London

If you’re in a town somewhere near to the M25, this is for you! In the lead-up to the next Global Day of Prayer on Sunday 31 May 2009, there’s going to be a massive, simultaneous 10 days of continuous prayer around the M25.

The working title for this project is “The M25 Nutcracker”, because if London is the nut, then 10 days of constant prayer completely surrounding and bombarding the capital is like a huge spiritual nutcracker – something will have to give.

This project is being put together in conjunction with the Global Day of Prayer movement and other initiatives. We’re looking for people living around the M25 interested in setting up creative prayer rooms for the 10 days.

The aim is to establish at least 31 prayer rooms, one for each of the 31 junctions around London’s orbital motorway. Of course, there are many towns around the M25 besides the junctions where “Nutcracker” prayer rooms might emerge.

Prayer will be directed at London, but that also extends to the UK and its influence in the world. And of course there is the Global Day of Prayer itself on Sunday 31 May, the Day of Pentecost, at a yet-to-be-confirmed venue somewhere in North London. There is also a vision to include prayer in the service stations around the M25.

A day after it was decided to go ahead with the M25 Nutcracker idea, an email came through reporting that recently New Zealander Rob DeLuca had prophetically seen the Fire of the Holy Spirit consuming London – “the Fire will burn brightly in towns across the UK. A ring of fire will sweep through the churches around the M25”. This has to happen.

Tim was first called to Moravian-style prayer in 1998 while helping his wife Vera hang the washing out in the garden. Between 2002 and the present day, Tim has helped to facilitate over 30 weeks of 24-7 prayer in the borough of Thurrock in South Essex. In October 2005 he facilitated The Turn Of The Tide Thames Prayer Wave – a “24-28” from the Estuary to the Source.

Tim was involved in the start-up of the Stanford & Corringham Boiler Room in 2007 and later that year The Old Tennis Court Community, a prayer house with an emphasis on healing, in Grays. He is currently involved in developing Transformation Thurrock, a resource for prayer, mission and unity – see www.transformationthurrock.com. Tim is also his borough’s ‘regional ambassador’ for the Global Day of Prayer and a facilitator of the Thames Gateway Prayernet. The M25 Nutcracker was originally an idea of John Pressdee, minister at Green Street Green Baptist Church in Orpington, and prophetic prayer walker.
